It’s plain old elitism. When I was a grad student at Harvard I was blown away at
the level of elitism and arrogance I saw there, especially with the Harvard undergraduate students. I did my undergrad at BYU and was accustomed to being around a lot of smart, humble people. To see that level of arrogance was shocking. It literally has a stench to it.
