Just eye-rolling at the sermonizing
I've been at a University where I've seen lots of kids who have done or said something dumb and get a second or third (or more) chance. There's some truth to what you list, but it just seems you're blowing it out of proportion; stating that if you disagree with BYU there's plenty of other options, but if you made a small mistake there's nowhere else that would accept you just seems a bit...over-the-top.
