Getting a full ride at a place is even an option for some of those (also lots of top schools now charge on a needs-based scale).
That being said, BYU is a great undergrad school as prep for big name grad school. That being said, I have seen a few BYU engineering undergrads who got pushed so hard they were burnt out a little bit by the time they started grad school and it took them a year to get their desire-to-learn legs back under them.
