BYU engineering has on of the best post-grad placements

A lot of the rankings are based on perception and funding more than outcomes. BYU isn't paying for the sort of facilities you need to have a good engineering brand.

Plus there is more to undergrad than spending your whole life in the engineering computer lab. You don't have the same social and marriage options.

Those schools have Institute programs. BYU is great but other schools can be better for some kids.
