Does she know what type of engineering or what she'd like to do as a career?
For example, if she wants biomedical engineering there are different schools she should look at.
I'm a Mechanical Engineer, and if you're not going to MIT/Stanford/ETC every school has different things they specialize in for undergrad.
Like, if she wants to work in automotive you should research schools that co-op well in the auto industry. Another thing is type of accreditation. When I was in undergrad, BYU had lost their ABET accreditation and that hampered some of their grads getting their PE when they got into industry and some colleagues had to petition to get their PE (They do now)

I graduated from BYU with a civil eng degree. I think going to a so-called top school is way overrated in general for
