My question: "Coaching up is do what you want?"

If I follow your reasoning, then the best coaching that Rose did was to stay out of Jimmer's way. I'm not saying that that was a bad decision. But at the same time, perhaps Jimmer would have been a more complete player if he had been taught a little defense.

Doesn't have to be. It is that way for all NCAA sports. Unless the school offers says 4-years. Most are 1 year.
