I think Steven is a Great kid! Would have loved for him to stay. Agree with some of what you said.
My only disagreements are these: He doesn't handle the ball well. He was scared to shoot. Even open shots. Not very quick. That being said, you don't have to have all of those to make it at the D1 level IF you have the mental game locked down. Not vouching for any other player on the team as to if they have IT or not. Steven didn't have it. For what ever reason he just didn't. We can blame it on coaching(I think for sure it played a role), being a freshman, and probably a number of other reasons. But why did Childs seem to grow into himself and play confidently? SO many great high school players absolutely DOMINATE and then it just never translates to the next level. Think Kawhi Leonard. He was average to good(way above average athlete though)skill while at SDSU. Jimmer made him look foolish time and time again. Where are they now? Jimmer hasn't gotten the fairest shake but it just didn't translate at the next level. Kawhi is a perennial MVP candidate. For whatever reason Steven Beo just didn't look like his game was on par at the D1 level. To think he may go shine on a PAC-12 team after what we saw last year is almost laughable. Not impossible as I believe people can gut up and change but with his showing last year its very improbable. If he goes somewhere and kills it then I will eat crow. I'll open up and all of the Beo supporters can shove it right down my throat. Here's the weird thing, I really like Beo. I honestly hope he does go kill it somewhere. He's a great kid. I'm just looking at what was show last year realistically.
