No, the credit he gets is different. Not for developing him but recognizing...
...what he had and how to best use it and then setting him free. He first tried to shoehorn Jimmer into his team concept on offense but after a couple years he realized Jimmer was an offensive weapon like none other he'd ever had. At the end of his sophomore year in the NCAA game against TAMU it became clear that in games against teams with better longer athletes we had only one player who could compete and get his shot and that was Jimmer. In his junior year you could see Rose taking the governor of off of his motor and let him go.

The offense he finally let Jimmer play was perfectly suited to Jimmer but it took Rose a while to change and feel comfortable letting Jimmer be Jimmer. Now that the mold has been broken on that, we see guys letting it fly at will from anywhere whether they're open or guarded, 27 ft away, early in the shot clock, etc. It worked with Jimmer but nobody else is Jimmer. Time for Rose to realize Jimmer is gone and we need to get back to an offensive scheme that works for the players we have.
