I am not suggesting that tithing be used for that, but not understanding that reality is a huge factor in the level of fan contributions is missing the mark.

BYU fans are not cheap. We are following the guidance of the prophet, paying tithing, having large families, and trying to do it on one income.

Because if this situation, which is different than any other program’s situation, the Church should do more than it does and not rely wholly on donations to athletics.
