BYU academics. My problem lies with the BOT when they won't allow the boosters to "assist" more in paying the cost of funding qualified coaches to help BYU compete against P5-level opponents. For example, ESPN reported that aTm's boosters funded 100% of the money required to get Jimbo Fisher that nice $75M guaranteed contract and that not one penny of that was coming from the school.
Now, do I expect BYU to allow the Cougar Club to go ballistic and spend whatever it wants to fund coaching salaries? NO. I agree with not getting into an arms race that is already out of control. But, to not allow the Cougar Club to help fund salaries is very short-sighted given the Church's position that BYU athletics, and more specifically BYU football, is a missionary tool to promote BYU - and by extension the Chuch and its mission.
