The only reason that this is relevant to the discussion is because it's an
indicator of where BYU fans put their priorities (and rightly so). When it comes to BYU football, BYU fans are cheap.
Other fans put their team higher on the priority list and invest more time/resources/money. This is fine, but let's not pretend like it's the church's obligation to make up the difference. If the fans want a big time program, then the fans need to invest and make it happen. The same thing happens at other schools.
