Actually is a pretty apt analogy in this case. People who pay money into a large organization feeling entitled to have said organization then mete out funds to meet their individual wants. In this case having their entertainment egos stroked by allowing them to keep up with the "joneses".

And it is in fact ironic given the overwhelming propensity of this fanbase to identify with the Republican party which prides itself on not using, needing, or encouraging entitlements.

I didn't say it was a good or bad thing, just ironic.
