You're describing the fact that many BYU fans have different priorities, which is completely fine....that's their choice. The Church invests in the program to the point where it sees that marginal benefit = marginal cost.

I think that you're showing some hubris in pointing fingers at the "mountains" of money that the church has when you have limited information and a biased perspective.
