Once again my wife is an L&D RN with almost 30 years experience so this is something I’m very familiar with. But the reason that is demonstrably false that doctors are “in a hurry” is because the doctors seldom come into the delivery until the delivery is imminent, they aren’t there for the 13 hours of labor previous to the birth.
The nurses call them in when it is close at hand. Sure on occasion that means the doctor is called early since it is a judgment call, and sometimes it actually results in the doctor not making it to the birth at all and the nurses delivering the baby. These doctors aren’t hanging out all day waiting for the moment.
