For the OP, sure he focuses on that one experience.
I'm not a Ute hater. I don't think you could find me using the term "yewt" in seriousness in my history of posting on CB.
The sad reality, however, is that a large enough percentage of Utah fans have shown such poor behavior that there is a stereotype, and it is deserved. It is quite often whitewashed, justified, or even minimized by your own fans--as you just did.
Not always, of course. I remember KSL personality Amanda Dixon wrote an article calling out Ute fans for their boorish behavior. Interestingly, many Ute fans ignored or criticized her.
For several months now, Ute fans have been gaining notoriety among a much wider circle on Twitter for being idiots to other fan bases as well. This isn't just a BYU-fan perspective. It's a growing theme. However, as a BYU fan, I do sit back and smile a bit that what we've seen locally is being confirmed more widely.
Now, you can come to CB and offer your apologetic justfications, but by doing so you are just the other side of that Ute twitter mob. No, it really does happen too often. Yes, it is a pattern. You'd be better served calling out your own fan base than coming here to offer a perfunctory apology, while explaining why what we see far too often really is not accurate. It is s accurate. It's spot on.
Go, Utes. And keep going.
