I grew up in CA as a BYU fan, but had no problem with utah and even wished them
well. I went to BYU undergrad and still had no ill feelings toward Utah b/c they just didn't come up. Didn't seem like anyone talked about them or cared.
Later, I lived in SLC and was exposed to Utah fans and their preoccupation with and hatred for all things BYU and their general annoyingness.
I came into SLC liking Utah, came out of it revolted by them.
