As many here have said, he's just a kid, and he may not have expressed himself there as well as he would have liked.
Additionally, even if he meant exactly what he said, that doesn't mean he's planning on doing any of that stuff or not going to BYU because he wants to sleep around, party, etc. It could mean he believes that small things could get him kicked off the team or punished. It also could mean that while he plans to be faithful, he doesn't know what could happen. Did Brandon Davies and Harvey Unga plan to sleep around when they committed to BYU? I'm assuming not.
Finally, your whole point was that he doesn't want to pay for his mistakes. This is presumptuous and offensive. I suppose that if what he said is exactly what he meant then you could read that to mean that if he does make mistakes he doesn't want those mistakes to impact his football career, which is very different from your position that he doesn't want to have any repercussions for his mistakes.
