This is right in line with Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It seems the team does not know itself or its enemy.  With regards to Bronco teams, some of his losses can be chalked up to not knowing his enemy.  I think one of the reasons KW has been able to edge BYU consistently is that he understands his enemy in the Holy War.
