This board is mostly about opinions, and I disagree with every single one of
your paragraphs. My opinions are:

Aggressive play with an attitude is not a reason he or BYU was ready for a change. The Derrick Stevenson types leading the rebellion with fans and boosters was the reason Bronco was tired of his stay and the administration was less than supportive of his continued tenure.

Yes, Bronco did have connections to the players when he became coach, in fact it was the player's efforts in lobbying for his hire that was the reported reason he was hired over LR. The culture of the program, which we are seeing is as or more critical than talent, was similar to this current one when he took over. For the last few years of Bronco's time here, we kept hearing how any coach can come in and win 8 games a year by just coming in and not "screwing it up". Well that is obviously not true.

Kalani inherited a team with SR talent, and the average young talent that we have always won with. Judging skill position players that play in this new culture is not a valid way to evaluate them when there is a lack of teaching, discipline and accountability and probably issues with X and Os. When a staff sees problems with talent, the correct approach is to FIX IT. Go get JC guys or grad transfers. Especially when you are perceived as the greatest recruiter we've ever had with coaching skills like Lavell. Virginia has a QB that is setting school records. Last spring, Bronco saw they were lacking there. They find this guy not starting at East Carolina. Added 2 grad transfer lineman for this season due to a weakness there. In your second year, time is hurting your excuses of not having skill players.

My opinion and that of knowledgeable others is that we have the talent at the skill positions, they are just not being used or developed correctly. If this is the case, even talented transfers (Trinneman for example) won't help in this area. We have the best TE recruit in 10 years and a guy with Watkins speed. Possession receiver in Simon, speedy slot guys like Hifo. Elite 11 qb that threw for 3350 as a freshman. Very adequate Oline.

I have mentioned it here, and I will mention it again, the idea that Bronco is winning with elite players is a myth. It is a parroted idea that motivated me to do some research. He has three 4* or better guys in his 2 deep. Very young team in the 2 deep outside of the 3 defensive studs and qb. Average star ranking of starters is 2.8, same as his 60th ranked classes (probably lower than BYU's starters, I know for a fact we have more than the 2 four star players VA starts). The difference between his 60th classes and Kalani's 60th classes is Bronco is demonstrating he can change a culture and build a team. His recruiting will most likely increase. Kalani is demonstrating he can take a program finishing consistently in the top 40 and destroy it. Recruiting will logically follow.

BTW, Virginia's 2018 class with 19 commits has a total of over 100 P5 offers, BYU 2018 class with 19 commits has 29. There is one current Oline commit for Virginia that has more P5 offers (including Texas, USC, Auburn, LSU. Clemson, Florida ST, Michigan) than BYU's entire class. The "Bronco can't recruit" idea is being dispelled as quickly as the one about Kalani being a good recruiter.

The old ideas that have been propagated on this board for years are dissolving. There is my opinion backed up with a fair amount of facts.
