...on the field. Any recruiting by a head coach that brought in a boatload of NFL talent and BYU all-time greats like John Beck, Austin Collie, Fui Vakapuna, Dennis Pitta, Ray Feinga, Jake Kuresa, Todd Watkins, Curtis Brown, Travis Bright, Jonnie Harline, Dallas Reynolds, Daniel Coats, David Nixon, Bryan Kehl, Aaron Francisco, John Denney, etc is great recruiting.
In Crowton’s 4 yrs of recruiting classes, more of his recruits went on to NFL success than Bronco had with 11 yrs of recruiting classes. I gather you don’t think very highly of players like John Beck, Jonnie Harline, Dennis Pitta, Curtis Brown, Bryan Kehl, etc because they were largely only 2 star recruits. Crowton’s success with recruiting dwarfed Bronco’s and it was the key reason to Bronco’s most successful seasons. There was a stark and noticeable drop-off in success after the last of Crowton’s players left BYU after the 2009 season. Bronco just couldn’t maintain it.
