So it took a lawsuit on his part for them to allow him to speak?
Sounds tolerant of them.

That is the thing though, defining tolerance as only when you agree with them really isn't tolerance at all. That said I will readily admit I'm not particularly tolerant of Richard Spencer and would never go to hear him speak. But that is me as an individual making that choice, public universities don't get make that distinction other than in very extreme circumstances. Of course I suppose we aren't all going to agree on what is extreme enough to be denied and what isn't.

Stanford is a private university so they can do whatever they want to do but we are talking about tolerance here, not personal choices. We all make personal choices that are intolerant all of the time. For instance I would never tolerate having Ted Bundy (yes of course I know he is dead) over to my house for dinner. There's a ton of stuff I wouldn't tolerate, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to tolerate them either which is why I find the leftists cries for tolerance exceptionally hollow and extremely hypocritical. They expect everyone else to tolerate their beliefs, no matter how extreme some may find them, while alternately not granting tolerance of other beliefs in a lot of instances. We all saw the chick that berated the guy over his MAGA hat a few months ago, and to the credit of the university they were at she was the one that was arrested for it but she was certainly representative of many on the left. One because they are the least tolerant of anyone but second of all because tolerance in and of itself is not necessarily a virtue. We all make choices of what we will tolerate in the behavior of other people all of the time and are many times justified in doing it.
