I said that exact thing...
So that was just redundant. The relevant point was that a school of 3000 students is going to have similar talent to a school of 3000 students just about anywhere else. There are at least 5 Srs signing D1 football scholarships from my sons 6A HS this year with a few more that seem like they might get offers before the feb 6th signing day, and several jrs that will do the same next year. There are also several more that will play on scholarship at lower levels like JC or D2, D3 etc.

There are at least 3 kids from his High schools basketball team that have already signed D1 scholarships with a couple more that almost certainly will. One of those kids is a top 50 in the nation recruit although sadly he is going out of state.

There are multiple kids from his Hs baseball team already signed to p,ay college baseball.

And I could list a bunch more from just about every sport in the school.

The point is the top talent at Utah’s biggest schools compares favorably to most other places, but it see,s most of them now go out of state. Yes there are fewer schools than a state like California, but the truth is no other state compares to California in population, it has millions of more residents than the next closest state, so trying to claim BYU is hampered because the level of competition in Utah is less than California is silly, every single other state has that same problem compared to California.
