It's not the problem though! The problem is how much talent there is in Utah
that it's very hard to keep it in state.

The problem with football recently is BYU hasn't got the best instate talent. Ngata, Lotulelei, Pita T, Puka, Bolles, Ty Jones, Fehoko, Gustin, Havili, Chase Hansen, this list goes on forever for football, but the talent in Utah per capita is THE BEST west of Louisiana! That's an incredible amount of talent here locally, all the colleges know it and are coming in and recruiting Utah very hard now, that's what the problem is!

Haws', Mika, Collinsworth, Emery, Frank Jackson, CJ Wilcox, Davies, Travis Hansen etc have all been some great talent locally in basketball and are far from being the problem with BYU. I realize they didn't all play at BYU but that's not the argument. Utah and BYU's basketball success has almost always coincided with getting the top instate talent, of course you can't field the whole team from Utah and they never have tried this.
