Both Mika and TJ Haws were top 100 kids nationally that not only played on a great high school basketball team (that won the National Championship including a 40 point win over the top team in California that year with Aaron Gordon I might add) but both Mika and Haws played AAU ball against some of the top talent in the nation in the summer leagues. Granted there are more athletes in California, but there are also way more colleges to pick from out there as well taking a bulk of the talent. BYU does a great job recruiting great players, the only problem is that there are not that many superstar LDS athletes out there that play basketball. If Mika and Bryant had stayed for this season we would all be singing a much different tune about the team this year.
