It sucks - but I talked to a D1 girls bball coach this weekend - she has
16,000 unread emails from potential recruits in her inbox. That is one coach on their staff. People have no idea the amount of email these coaches get, especially with COVID and no live evaluation period. Sorting through emails of recruits would be a full time job. And not responding is not unique to BYU, hardly ANYONE responds to every email. The rare ones I talk to confirm they will read them, but don't know anyone who responds to them all, they just can't with small staffs and all that is involved running a D1 program.
