This is my first year playing on the high school team, but I’ve been team manager for the past two years. I have a really good overhand serve. I’m really interested in your program.” I’m not spending a single second responding to that, there’s not enough time.

It sucks being in OP’s position, I’ve been there. But coaches have only a limited amount of time, and they aren’t going to use it just to be nice. I’d be willing to bet there isn’t a single player who chose school A over school B because “they responded to my teammate and told her they weren’t interested.”
