playoff games, she held both teams scoreless in their shootouts. Her nickname was “Iron Current.”
6A is Texas’s largest division. She played in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Her club team won the National title, which included defeating the goalkeeper BYU offered.
Our niece not a member signed with a D1 school in the South. She has since graduated.
Due to our niece not attending BYU’s summer camps Rockwood didn’t give her a second thought. She, Rockwood said we have been watching these girls for years... yet, she had a chance to sign a great player, who is also a great student with straight A’s in some science/medical/oceanography program... and passed.
If anyone is interested in having a child play for Rockwood get them in front of her as a toddler. Being from Utah helps.
Now no one can argue with her success as a coach. But if she would open her recruiting scope just a tiny bit more, perhaps they can move to the very elite top level?
