Was that a hit or a reach on error? I’ve seen parents get really upset when someone marks something a reach on error, when they believed their son should have been awarded a hit. One guy argued that the ball was hit so hard that we had to rule a ground ball right at the 2nd baseman a hit. I told him I don’t have exit velocities, so I can’t decide what constitutes hard enough to be a hit vs a ROE.
