You only spent a few sentences on school spirit. The top athletes already play as part of private organizations don’t they? If they don’t want to participate with the unwashed masses they can spend even more time with the travel team.

Isn’t RSL Academy a high school for athletes? Seems like soccer outside the US follows this model just fine. I think European basketball works the same way.
