a dad with a freshman on the varsity (basketball) that starts and I'm also the coach. Sometimes stats don't matter to some people, especially parents. I made sure the stats were extremally accurate (hudl and I reviewed) and at the end of the day it didn't matter to some. It's hard to believe that grown adults will shout down to a 15 year old kid on the same team "daddy Ball" and other crap, but they do. I was once told by another coach about playing your kid. If they are good enough play them because it won't matter what you do there will always be haters and you might as well not punish your own kid.
