you aren't going to find a representative sample on this subject by polling Cougarboard.
Schools try very hard to diversify each incoming class as much as possible. They will accept some from Utah, but not many because they need students from many different states/countries for diversity statistics. Schools love to point out that less than X percent of their students are from the home state, or they have students representing x amount of states and x amount of countries. It's what schools do. BYU does the same thing in its own way, as does every other college (especially graduate programs) that wants to be taken seriously in any ranking.
