It is NOT just a BYU Mormon thing. Schools all over the country are pushing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Including BYU with their Belonging Program. The most discriminated group nationally are Asian Males. At Harvard for instance Asians have an average SAT of 767, Whites 745, Hispanics 718, Native Americans 712 and African Americans 704 out of 800. I am married to a Chinese woman so my sons have a triple whammy of being Asian-White-Males. That is a death sentence and if you want to add Mormon then it is a quadruple death sentence. My one son graduated from the University of Utah with a 3.8 gpa in biomedical engineering and a pre-med gpa of 3.9. He came out of high school with 60 college credits so he was exempted from all GE classes except one (diversity). All he had were way hard classes. He scored in the 85th percentile on the MCAT (took it once). Had hundreds of hours of following doctors. Started up a non-profit medical supply company for Navajo Indians (Project Embrace). Helped co-author a published research paper and is employed by the University of Utah medical school now doing research in epidemiology. Many of his classmates were admitted to the U's medical school but none were Asian males. His classmates have told him that he would easily be in the top 25% of the class if he was admitted. His advisor at Utah said he had a better than 80% chance of being admitted. He is on the waiting list. He was accepted to the PhD program in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering at the U and has decided to go into biomedical engineering and get a PhD in neuro-robotics. He got an all tuition scholarship ($38,000/year), stipend ($40,000/year) and health insurance ($4000/year) for four or five years. Screw medicine. Our whole country is a disaster because DEI trumps merit and it is not just discrimination against Mormons.
