This is what every graduate school does, and undergrad to a lesser degree
How often do these same people complain about their well qualified card carrying member children not getting into BYU? Universities want to show they are diverse, not just in ethnicity, but in every way possible. If they accepted every qualified mormon kid from Utah they wouldn't have room for kids from other states/countries.

My sibling teaches at the U school of medicine, did their undergrad and graduate studies there and has always been very open about their faith. They practically begged my sibling to work for them.

There are definitely people in at the UofU hospital and medical school that do not like religion, and our religion in particular, but those people are not the ones making the decisions, and they are not the majority. My sibling quit while working in one particular part of their hospital because her coworkers were anti-mormon. Her bosses convinced her to come back and work in a different area of the hospital where none of that happened.

Yes, it's anecdotal... but this information is from someone who knows EVERYONE working for the hospital/medical school administration, and they all know this person is of our faith. Everywhere you go there are going to be doctors who think religion/faith in God is beneath their elevated understanding. It's not a UofU problem, it's a problem in the field of academics in general.
