It’s a tough position to define success and it’s a tough position to know whethe
Someone is truly “qualified” for such a position.
Holmoe was given the position because he was fast and could guard receivers well 20 years earlier. He doesn’t seem to have any other post football success or even education that would qualify him for leading a company/organization/dept
A lot of these AD type jobs just go to ex athletes and who knows who the good ones are s the bad ones. There are sure lucky ones regarding certain coaching hires but that still just mostly seems like luck to me
