I think this is the key.
In the two biggest sports, which are most impacted by P5/conference affiliation, BYU has struggled in recent years. However, other programs at BYU that are less dependent on such things are at historic highs.
I understand the frustration of some fans, but its myopic to say that athletics are imploding at BYU.
