Lying? Just because BYU BOT expect certain things doesn't mean they aren't
trying to compete at the highest levels. Cecil O. Samuelson was heavily involved in the negotiations. Did BYU overplay their hand? Perhaps. Neither you nor I were involved in any of the discussions and so there is only speculation. It very well could have been that the B12 was trying to take advantage of Utah leaving for the PAC12 and BYU said no thank you.
