That’s where they are. Not because they may or may not have played or coached. It’s because they are bridge builders, lead negotiators (along with attorneys and school presidents), and ultimately keep advocates for their schools to sell a coach on coming there, selling donors to put in facilities, or selling third parties like espn on the value on the BYU brand.

There isn’t anyone that comes to my mind that is the most effective at all of those particularly for the uniqueness of BYU. Tom does a strong job at covering these requirements and I’m not aware of anyone that I would have confidence in that could do it better.

Tom will ride out his time and then it’ll be Chad Lewis IMO.
