tournaments out of town, each weekend, once the season kicks off and an average of 10-12 games per week for a few months.
If my wife wasn’t the type of woman she is, there’s no way we could juggle it all. My wife is hyper organized, has tons of energy and a can-do attitude with most things in life.
Thankfully my sons are just good enough to play competitive ball but aren’t good enough for that next level of real travel ball. My nephew played for a couple of Utah’s top baseball teams that played in FL, Nebraska, Arizona, Vegas, CA, HI. That’s an even different level.
It’s definitely too much what we are doing but unfortunately the alternatives are don’t play at all or play city league which is overwhelmingly kids that are sadly very uncoordinated and socially awkward in most cases. I would prefer that some sort of middle ground existed but it doesn’t currently so I guess we just enjoy it while it lasts.
