I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, but we’ve gotten to know a lot more people of different backgrounds BECAUSE of

club sports.

One of my kids plays on the best club soccer team in the state. They pull kids from all over our metro area. The result is we have a mix of wealthy suburban kids playing next to lower income (typically Hispanic) kids who love the game. Many of the parents don’t speak much English at all. We would never know these families if we only played on a community team.
