Thankfully we’re not part of any of the “fancy” clubs. On average we pay around a one time $500 per kid for registration
team fees. If they need a new uniform combo then it’s an average of $175 ish. Each kid averages around $300 for tournament entrance fees. So as far as them playing is concerned we have a total of roughly $800-900 per kid.

The fancy clubs charge a monthly fee. In Utah there are the bigger ones like Mountain West or RA academy and several clubs that are not quite as big. We aren’t connected with any of those so we save a lot by not paying monthly fees to them.

From there we have significant fuel costs, hotel costs, eating out etc… we definitely spend around $12k or more for my sons to play baseball. Is it worth it? Probably not when I think about it but my sons want to play and this window of “competitive baseball” only last a handful of years so we are willing to suffer through it for now, knowing they’ll be in high school soon and the travel ball stuff ends.
