Doubled edged. Better competition and development for the really good players

If the kids a late bloomer or the family doesn't want to spend the time and money to keep up with the Joneses then they get behind and fall out of the sport. It's producing better players but probably wrecking the fun for kids and families playing just for the fun of it.
