The PAC 10 sent out 12 RFI/RFQ packets. Didn't even ask for BYU. Didn't even consider BYU.
You can explain that however you want, but except for Texas, none of those 12 teams have such an advantage over BYU that it would call for completely ignoring BYU.
On one side (Colorado) you argue economics. On the other side, you argue team quality.
In terms of team quality, there isn't that much difference between BYU and Utah lately. BYU is clearly superior to Colorado.
In terms of economics, BYU if far superior to either of the other two.
Utah's being invited to the PAC 10 is fantastic for that program, but unfortunately for yewt fans, it doesn't imply the supremacy that they think that it does, but instead reflects the complete disinterest that the PAC 10 has in a religious university.
