Thanks for the genuine post. I love reading those. I agree with you. I'm not saying bitter holier-than-thou hypocrite smack. IMO, talent-wise 2008 BYU was just as good as 2008 TCU and Utah. The Y took a distant third solely because they thought were so much better than the other two. Poor, predictable game plan, no respect for the opposition; just presumed superiority (entitlement).
Which is why no one should be surprised by Hall's quote after the TCU game. In the non-AQ world, we get attention by smacking the BCS preconceptions. BYU played OU perfectly . they game planned, they were unpredictable, they were hungry, I thought it was a terrific game (they played this way against Utah and Oregon State as well). Especially considering Bauman and Unga were out.
Then they turn around and lose the chip. They start chest thumping, talking NC title game and then get absolutely embarrassed by FSU b/c of poor, predictable game planning and disrespect to opponent. May very well have cost TCU a NC bid
