That the Church owns BYU... therefore the Church is BYU... doesn't mean all LDS people see it exactly the same way some BYU students and alumni do.

My whole family attended Utah for generations. If I listen to much that is written about Utah here... how could I not be persuaded to (at least) not like some of these posters opinions. My loyalty was always to Utah in sports... but I supported BYU against everyone else but Utah due to my religious faith.

After reading this board for months... I like BYU fans far less than I used to.. and honestly have now begun to see a distinction between LDS Ute and Cougar fans. Right or wrong, I see many Cougar fans as the "holier than thou" think they are better than others type of Mormons.

From my perspective, many BYU fans judge others in many ways... for example... BYU is the Lord's University and if you support your own school you are a traitor to your faith (OP) and will receive less than BYU fan in the view of the Lord. That is ridiculous.

Isn't it obvious to some of you to see where some of the smug, judgmental, sanctimonious, self-righteous, complaints about BYU originate?

Who are the ones doing the real damage to BYU? Max Hall hates me. Fortunately... I don't like him either... and he'll have no success in the NFL.
