Independence isn't way better than the MWC was...
When we were facing TCU, Utah, AFA and CSU for the conference championship each year... nothing within Independence has came close to reaching that level of excitement/entertainment. And take out the Utah game ever November, but look at our other November games against the likes of Wyoming, UNM, UNLV and attendance for those games were strong. Since going Independence, we've have problems just filling the student section in November let alone the rest of the stadium. We've hit new stadium attendance lows. We didn't have this bad of attendance from 2002-2004.
Joining the AAC would be just as good, if not better, than the MWC when we had TCU, Utah and us fighting it out.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced

I think if we have a good 10-2 type run, we probably get LV. But we do it again the next year, we would get NY6
