Why are you talking SOS for FB. It doesn't matter for Indy teams not named ND.
There is no clause for Army, Umass, or BYU to get into the final4 or NY6.
There is 1 open G5 spot for best G5 conference winner.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced
