Can someone explain what our failure has to do with independence
A crappy team would still be a crappy team in a crappy conference.

One main difference is that P5 conferences consider independent BYU a P5 game, so it is easier to schedule us

Exactly my point. By moving to ANY G5, our ability to schedule meaningful P5 games is greatly reduced
