We aren't better than half of the teams in the AAC already.... if you plopped BYU right in the middle of that conference right now and compared revenue, we wouldn't even be the top revenue making program in the conference, that's UConn. Oh wait... how did they do that without being Independent? That's crazy.

You know who else is close to our revenue gains? Houston, UCF, Cincinnati, San Diego St. BYU's football TV money they get is only a million more than the AAC's... the AAC's is projected to possibly double this round of TV negotiations. Then what excuse do we have?

Recruiting would get worse? How so? Prove to me that recruiting will get worse. Right now we offer a D1 football program with nothing to play for but being on TV. Exactly how much worse can it get than that? You've got this myopic view of what BYU's situation is, that doesn't meet reality. When conference races are heating up at the end of October, and all of November... nobody gives a rip about who BYU is playing... because NCAA Football is 100% about conference play... all of it. Our recruiting got worse going from the MWC to Independence... it hasn't gotten better. It got worse in Basketball it's gotten worse in Football.

And if I'm not mistaken, Holmoes direct quote about going Independent he said, "It's not about the money" Do you know why he said that? Because the money BYU is making going Independent hasn't been this wealth of a financial gain... we aren't broke, but we didn't find a cash cow either. Colorado freaking State just built a new stadium on their MWC dime they get. What have we done with our Indy money? Oh we painted our elevator towers.
