Some of you are champions of the working man/woman and would tell any employee to stick it to their employer if it’s in their own self interest. 2 week notice? Who cares. Take the new job cuz you don’t owe your boss a thing.

Yet those same champions seem to think an owner doing what’s in their own self interest is somehow evil and awful.

How come it’s okay for the employee to stick it to their boss, but it’s not okay for the boss to stick it to the employee? Personally, I don’t think either party should have that attitude as both owe each other some level of gratitude and respect.

Sure, cast stones at the boss here for letting her go 4 days early, but why not also recognize she hosed him too. 4 days to hire and train someone? Come on. Neither party here is saint worthy.

It’s just crazy to me how one sided people are. Did he inconvenience her for letting her go 4 days early? Sure. But didn’t she pretty much do exactly the same thing by quitting 5 days earlier than is standard?

I’ve been employer and I’ve been employee, and it seems to me we should require all people to try both as I really think it would lower the animosity between the two groups.
