With multiple furlough days, was laid off once (and recalled after a long weekend). I had burned all my vacation on the furloughs. I didn’t give my notice until I had my written offer in hand which took longer than I wanted. New boss wanted me to travel soon after getting hired. I gave my boss one weeks notice and he lamented that I should have given him 4 weeks. I started working with my replacement(internal) to train him and after 3 days they let me go. I knew that if I had given a month, the exact same thing would have happened. Zero guilt on my part for the short notice.
